It’s a little bit of a review, a bit of just talking about the experience, and a bit of ranting about various things (mostly related to the games though, so that’s pretty good.) I mean, if you’re here you’re probably interested in buying a N64 controller for the switch, which means you probably grew up playing these games, so I feel pretty confident that you’ll enjoy talking points such as (but not limited to:) Banjo Kazooie VS Super Mario 64, OOT/MM, Pokemon Snap, and Diddy Kong racing. Specifically the Wireless N64 bluetoothĬontroller made for the switch, and its complimentary N64 games available to anyone who has the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack. As if someone would replay the switch puzzle hell that is hexen, hahahaha.Today we're doing a deep dive into the Nintendo Switch. If coop play hexen so you can at least get some benefit out of the class system instead of just limiting yourself to 4 weapons. Honestly I was clearing levels in like 10 seconds and then walking around looking for the switch I mean for 20 minutes every single time. It suffers from the same problems, the fact that you only get 4 weapons instead of 10 because they're split up across 3 classes and the map design being pretty boring because it requires you to run around looking for switches all the time. The classes are different and there's even more switch puzzles <_< Other than that it's basically the same shit again. Hexen 2 is basically Hexen 1: Quake Engine Edition. Watch some gameplay on youtube or something. If you're into that you might like it but it's definitely not the best game ever. Heretic 2 is like a weird platforming game. Another shitty thing is that the item pickups are more or less effective depending on which class you're playing, meaning some items during your playthrough will just be trash. That might seem cool but it means each class only get 4 weapons instead of the usual 9 or 10.
Another problem with Hexen 1 is that there are now three classes. Very often you'll hit a switch and it'll tell you it's the first in like 9 switches you have to find until the door opens. They leaned WAY harder into the switch puzzle thing, which is not always fun. Hexen 1 is also pretty good, but with big caveats. It has a lot of action, many weapons and the combat design feels less janky than the other ones. Heretic 1 is probably the least tedious one.
